Current Scope

E4S provides a forward-looking roadmap for the short and medium term of the secondary substations ecosystem, focusing on five key areas.

First, use cases are identified and defined to ensure that the developed solutions address both technical and business needs, enabling their successful implementation and adoption.
The E4S platform consists of open and licence-free hardware and software specifications designed to enable standardized, digitalized, and sustainable solutions across DSOs.
Through standardization, E4S ensures seamless communication, interoperability, and interchangeability across all components, with the ambition of having its specifications recognized as industry standards.
Certification guarantees that all E4S solutions comply with relevant standards, maintaining an open, interoperable, and secure ecosystem.
Finally, promotion focuses on fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among DSOs and stakeholders to drive adoption and collective innovation in the energy sector.
